I am interested in creating sculptures that twist literal themes and familiar ideas into visual puns and misrepresentations. The resulting narratives made of clay and mixed media have been called darkly humorous, disturbing and irreverent, as well as whimsical and fun. I am often amazed at how my subconscious and intuition shape the work as characters emerge and direct the story’s development, feeling like a magician who starts a spell only to be caught up in the mystical process he began.
